"We knew from pretty early on that this album would make us or it would break us," said Trenton Woodley on 'Dissonants'. Following up the breakthrough that was 'Unimagine', and doing so without keyboardist Jamal Sabet, was indeed a new challenge the band had to overcome, but overcome they did.

Trenton's vocals are just bang on, there's no disputing it. You hear it on opener 'I Am', by third track 'Colourblind' he's just killing it, and you're locked in for the whole album. 'Momentary' is emotive, where 'Degrees of Separation' really pushes for that all-too-popular blend of rock and electronic that's currently dominating.

'Dissonants' is absolutely solid - let's get that out there. There's few holes that can be picked on a technical level, yet when it mixes styles it sounds like Bring Me The Horizon's genre-blending work; when it's going for straight up rock smashes, it reminds you of Lower Than Atlantis, The Used, a pantheon of great bands all thrown in together.

But this is an album bigger than Hands Like Houses currently are, which is probably an indication of how underrated they for some reason have been so far. They're doing what many others are doing, but they're doing it well and, in many cases, better. This just feels huge. Heather McDaid[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
