65daysofstatic have always been a band who have forged their own distinct path and they continue to travel down their experimental journey with sixth album ‘replicr, 2019’. Heavy on atmosphere and portent the band strip back their expansive sonic pallet to its most primal form, ramping up the darkness and despair throughout bleak soundscapes and punishing noise.

A read through their tracklist with its mysterious garbled code and words evoking dystopian dread like the quirkily odd banger of ‘bad idea’ indicates this is very much not an album for light listening. There is though a stark melancholy beauty with permeates through the grime to make this a rewarding experience longtime followers of the band can once again wallow in their internal language of misery on an album that sets a marker for a year full of upheaval and doubt.
