It's been a hot second since we heard new music from Milk Teeth but start holding your breath 'cos the wait won't be much longer.
The song, maybe/possibly called 'Stain', is "quite dark," according to Becky. "It's definitely influenced by the heavier things we listen to and there's a gothic nature in the lyrics. It's about mental health. It's more of 'Fight Skirt vibe', if I had to compare it to something we've done before, but it's different again. It's still us but with a slight twist again, which is exciting. You can hear Em's influence and what she brings to the table. The single will be out this year and the album will be next year but it's on the way."
It's been a hectic, demanding year for Milk Teeth who end 2018 with a very different lineup to when they started. They're now a three-piece with Em (also from Nervus) joining the band alongside Oli and Becky following the departure of Billy and Chris. Things are looking up for 2019 though.
"I'm excited and positive. I know the stuff we've demoed so far and I know how much happier I am in the new circumstances. When me and Em met, we got on like a house on fire and this was even before I fathomed the idea she'd be joining Milk Teeth.
"As soon as I met her, I felt like I knew her for ten years already. It was very bizarre. She's brought everything into the band that I always wanted. She's on the same page, she backs me, she's made such a difference to me and Oli.
"After everything that's happened, her being 'all these things that have happened to you are awful, I totally understand, I've got your back, I'm here to make this the best thing ever', it's such a boost of confidence. Now, I don't want it to be poor them. It has been shit, we've had our time where we've not been ok but now it feels like a fresh start."
