Big Scary Monsters have announced that Oasis (Milk Teeth) and Blur (The Winter Passing) will headline the next instalment of their Big Day Out event.
The covers sets will top a bill that also features Tellison, Nervus, Fresh (acoustic), Delaire The Liar, Katie Malco, Cheerbleederz and Anna’s Anchor.
“TWP doing Blur is gonna be silly!” says the band’s Rob Flynn. “Being Irish we’ve always had a love affair with Oasis but after seeing Blur play live in 2015 at a festival called Electric Picnic in Ireland that we played, it really changed our minds about their songwriting capabilities and how much we appreciate them.
"We’re also up for mad banter so fuck Oasis!!!! Blur songs are more complex thank Oasis tunes so TWP being fantastic at music will make for possibly the greatest cover set of Blur ever played live. We expect the true London heads with us on the night. I believe Blur will be attending our set themselves!”
Big Day Out takes place on 28th September across The Empire Bar, MOTH Club and Paper Dress Vintage in East London. For more information, visit bsmrocks.com.
