Panic! At The Disco release video for ‘Death Of A Bachelor’

After sharing the title track to their new albumDeath Of A Bachelor‘ a few weeks back, Panic! At The Disco have now unveiled a video to go with it. And yes, it’s as alcohol-laced, swinging and Sinatra-esque as you’d hope.

“Hello, beautifuls. It’s me, Brendon. I wanna tell you that I love you,” starts the message on the band’s Facebook page.

“Right now, I’m sitting at my piano. The same place that I wrote a lot of my new album “Death Of A Bachelor” (out January 15th on the internet or anywhere CDs are sold if you’re someone who leaves their house; end of shameless plug). And, actually, I’m sitting where I wrote the song of the same name. Holiday decorations at my back. Fire burning low. ‘A Muppet Christmas Carol’ playing in the background.

Maybe it’s the holiday spirit or maybe it’s this Disney movie, but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you and can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.

So here’s a video I shot for the song “Death Of A Bachelor”. Something to hold you over until the album comes out (again, it comes out January 15th, just in case you were wondering or you just forgot).
Anyway, I hope your holiday break is awesome and that you can deal with your family’s awkwardness with grace and patience. I love and appreciate you. Happy new year!”

Speaking to Upset at Reading Festival, Brendon Urie went into detail about ‘Death Of A Bachelor. “Writing a song on piano and putting it with hip-hop beats is very cool. I produced a lot of the album. I just sat there, making beats all day, then I’ll go back to it the next day and sing over it.

“I wrote a song called ‘Death of a Bachelor’ on piano. It’s very jazzy, very Sinatra-esque so I sung it that way but then put it with this beat that sounds like Beyonce’s ‘Drunk in Love’. It’s a bizarre mix but it’s so cool. I‘m really excited for people to hear that and all the songs really because they’re all like that, very different.”

‘Death Of A Bachelor’ is out January 15th 2016 (if you still weren’t sure) and Panic! At The Disco will be playing a handful of launch shows before returning to the UK to headline Slam Dunk Festival in May. Dates below.
