Martha pack the ‘Ice Cream and Sunscreen’ in new video

Summer, eh? The season where anything can happen – but probably doesn’t – is here, which is nice. If flowers, going to the beach and pictures of people in muddy fields aren’t enough to get you excited for July, maybe the new Martha record will help.

While you’ve still got a few days to wait for ‘Blisters in the Pit of My Heart‘ (four if our maths is correct), you can check out their new video for ‘Ice Cream and Suncreen‘ below.

“It’s song about getting it bad and getting it wrong. Romanticising something that doesn’t exist. It’s an acknowledgement of some of the more murky places your mind goes when you’re figuring yourself out. Acting like a teenager (whatever that means) in your mid-twenties,” offer the band. It’s also very, very good.

The band are playing some shows. The dates are as follows.

01 Manchester – Soup Kitchen
02 Nottingham – Rough Trade
08 Leeds – Wharf Chambers
14 Durham – Alington House
16 Sunderland – Summer Streets Festival
17 Glasgow – Audio
22 London – Tuffnell Park Dome
23 Bristol – Exchange
27 Durham – Empty Shop

05 Derby – Hairy Dog
06 Brighton – West Hill Hall
08 Leeds – House Show
10 Harrogate – Major Toms
11 Kingston – Hippodrome
13 Newcastle – Cluny 2

2-4 End of the Road Festival, Dorset

‘Blisters in the Pit of My Heart’ is out July 8th via Fortuna POP!
