The Joy Formidable drop new digital EP, raise money for charity

The Joy Formidable have released a new EP; ’Sleep Is Day’ is available digitally now. It features ‘Liana’ from recent album ‘Hitch’, alongside six acoustic tracks.

A video for ‘Liana’ can be watched below, with an accompanying Pledge project with all proceeds donated to the Sumatran Orangutan Society.

“We read a tweet by the naturalist and conservationist Bill Oddie where he was lamenting the destruction of the lianas in the orangutans’ natural habitat,” explains frontwoman Ritzy.

“Once we started reading about the crisis the orangutan was facing, it set the wheels in motion for us wanting to raise some money.”

The band will play a show at Islington Assembly Hall on 30th November, following their European support tour with Placebo.

The track listing for ’Sleep Is Day’ is:

1 Liana (from ‘Hitch’)
2 Radio Of Lips (acoustic)
3 Angelfuck (The Misfits cover)
4 The Last Thing On My Mind (acoustic)
5 Ashes To Ashes (David Bowie cover)
6 Escape (KONGOS cover)
7 Sleep Is Day
