“We wanted to write better songs then we ever had before,” says vocalist Oliver Swift of Leeds’s Day Old Hate. “Making brave decisions and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone was a must; it was an intense experience – we pushed ourselves to write the best Rock record we could.”

Judging by ‘First Light’, the title track from their new EP, they’ve done just that. Top drawer Brit-rock, it’s doubtless set to put the quintet on the fast track for fans of Mallory Knox, Young Guns and co.
