Watch Red Hot Chili Peppers cover Bowie at a Bernie Sanders fundrasier

For their first gig of 2016, Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at a fundraiser for Bernie Sanders. During the 12-song set, the band covered David Bowie‘s ‘Cracked Actor‘ and we’ve got some questionable mobile phone footage for you.

The band even decorated their drum kit for the occasion.

It’s recently come to light that David Bowie turned down working with Red Hot Chili Peppers a couple of times. “We asked him to produce [2002 album] ‘By the Way’… and then we asked him again for our next record, which was [2006 LP] ‘Stadium Arcadium’. He said no to us two or three times, but his mate [Brian] Eno, who we’ve also been asking our entire career to produce a record for us, has said no eight times,” explained Anthony Kiedis.
