Tracklisting released for Kurt Cobain solo album

The tracklisting has been revealed for ‘Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings’, a new album compiled from Kurt Cobain’s song snippets, demos, and “musical experiments”, due for release on 13th November.

The collection – available as both a 13-track standard edition and 31-track deluxe edition – will coincide with the DVD/Blu-ray edition of Brett Morgen’s Montage of Heck documentary.

“These are all just Kurt by himself with the guitar,” Morgen told Billboard earlier this year. “These aren’t multi-track, finished songs or work-ups, but they’re extraordinary.

“I think they provide a tremendous insight into his [creative] process. I think they further our understanding of Kurt, both as a musician and as a man.”

The tracklisting is as follows:

1 ‘The Yodel Song’
2 ‘Been A Son’
3 ‘The Happy Guitar’
4 ‘Clean Up Before She Comes’
5 ‘Reverb Experiment’
6 ‘You Can’t Change Me/Burn My Britches/Something In The Way’
7 ‘Scoff’
8 ‘Desire’
9 ‘And I Love Her’
10 ‘Sappy’
11 ‘Letters To Frances’
12 ‘Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle’
13 ‘She Only Lies’

A 7” of Cobain’s cover of The Beatles’ ‘And I Love Her’ is also due this autumn, as is a “super deluxe” version of the documentary which will include the album, along with 48 minutes of interview material, a 160-page book featuring old photos, a movie poster, and more.
