The National announce Grateful Dead tribute album details

The National have been working on a Grateful Dead tribute album for a very long time, and they’ve finally confirmed details for the 59-track epic. Due for release on 20th May through 4AD, and dubbed ‘Day of the Dead’, the release runs to over six hours in length.

Featured on the release, are Wilco, Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, The War on Drugs, The Flaming Lips, Anhoni, Fucked Up, Jenny Lewis, Bruce Hornsby, Phosphorescent, Courtney Barnett and Grizzly Bear members Ed Droste and Daniel Rossen, among many many others.

The release will be available digitally, as a 5-CD set, and as a limited edition vinyl box set, with proceeds benefitting the Red Hot Organization and its fight against AIDS.
