Slipknot’s Clown is changing his name following all the clown attacks

Slipknot’s Shawn Crahan has temporarily changed his Clown stage name following the spate of clown attacks throughout America and Britain (like these, for example).

Speaking on BBC2 show No Such Thing As The News (below), the band’s Corey Taylor joked: “Even our dear Clown has downgraded himself to Mime, in order to distance himself from these hedonistic doppelgangers until the coast is clear.”

Slipknot recently released album ‘5: The Gray Chapter’; the band’s first following the death of founding bassist Paul Gray in 2010, and the departure of long-time drummer Joey Jordison in 2013.
