Scott Weiland found dead, aged 48

Scott Weiland, formally of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has been found dead, aged 48.

The singer, who was on tour with his band The Wildabouts in Minnesota where he was due to play a show last night (Dec 3rd), passed away in his sleep. A post on his Instagram reads: “Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”
