We don’t want to ‘Give It Away’, but the first bands for this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals have been announced – and Red Hot Chili Peppers are headlining.
(Sorry. That was awful. – Ed)
Returning to the festival after a nine year absence, and with their eleventh album on the way, festival boss Melvin Benn explained, “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliner for Reading & Leeds 2016, as a festival exclusive. Their incredible live show will be an unforgettable headline performance at the UK’s biggest music festival. We’ve still got some really exciting names to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up. It’s going to be our best year yet.”
Ten acts have been confirmed for next year’s events. There’s also room for all conquering duo Twenty One Pilots, Crossfaith, Slaves, The 1975, Hinds, Boy Better Know, Rat Boy, The Courteeners and DJ EZ.
