Red Hot Chili Peppers are dropping a new track this week, FYI

We don’t mean to concern you with unnecessary facts on your Bank Holiday Monday evening, but Red Hot Chili Peppers appear to be returning later this week with a new song.

Taking to Twitter, the band have confirmed that a new song – presumably titled ‘Dark Necessities’ – will drop this Thursday, May 5th.

The Chili Peppers are expected to follow it up with an album this summer, before headlining Reading and Leeds over the August Bank Holiday weekend. They’ve been working with Danger Mouse on the record, with Radiohead’s long term collaborator Nigel Godrich mixing.

Just don’t say we didn’t warn you.
