Reading & Leeds is “massively important”, say God Damn

Reading & Leeds Festival takes place this Bank Holiday Weekend (28th – 30th August), hosting sets from the likes of headliners The Libertines, Mumford & Sons and Metallica, as well as Against Me!, PVRIS, Bring Me The Horizon, Drenge, current Upset cover stars FIDLAR – and Wolverhampton two-piece, God Damn.

“We are currently on a bit of downtime between European festivals,” the duo’s drummer Ash Weaver tells Upset prior to the event. “I say downtime, there’s only a few days between them. So I’ve just been catching up with family and friends who I haven’t seen for a while, I think it’s important to do that.

“[Reading & Leeds is] one of those festivals that I’ve always dreamed of playing. There’s been so many of my favourite bands playing over the years. I would definitely say it’s massively important. I’ve never actually been, so my first time is going to be the one I get to play too, which makes it a bit more special.

“We get to catch up with a lot of mates,” he continues, “Drenge, Peace, Swim Deep, and we get to share the same stage as Youth Man who are our Brummie pals. The Bronx and Bo Ningen will be pretty special too, and surely everyone needs to see Limp Bizkit once in their life don’t they?!

“Reading & Leeds, at the moment, is our last festival of the year, so it’s a pretty nice way to end. We have our biggest UK headline tour to date starting on 29th September, we’re dead excited for it, so the next few weeks will be spent preparing for that.”

Reading Festival 2015 has now completely sold out, with the last few weekend tickets snapped up a few days ago. Tickets for Leeds Festival are still available. Read more about Reading & Leeds in the September issue of Upset.
