Muse say they aren’t playing Bestival after all

Muse won’t be playing this year’s Bestival the band have revealed, following a summer of rumours sparked by an interview with frontman Matt Bellamy backstage at the World Snooker Championship.

“We’re doing Download Festival,” he said at the time, “which is like the metal festival, and Bestival in Isle of Wight later in the year, and next year we’ll do our own tour obviously.”

Now however, he’s changed his tune – posting to Twitter:

Bestival will take place at Robin Hill Country Park in the Isle Of Wight, from 10th – 13th September. The Chemical Brothers, Missy Elliott, Tame Impala, Jungle and more are confirmed to play.

Muse released their new album ‘Drones’ earlier this year. Read Upset’s review here.
