Mikey Way to join Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley on tour

After Deryck Whibley was hospitalised due to his issues with alcohol addiction last year, he’s gone through a very public recovery. Now, with the live return of Sum 41 set to take place at the Alternative Press Music Awards on July 22nd and a handful of warm-up shows under the moniker of Deryck Whibley and The Happiness Machine scheduled to kick off on July 3rd, it’s the good news everyone hoped for.

Better yet Mikey Way, who has also publicly battled his own demons and whose return to the live stage came with a imposing question mark, will be joining The Happiness Machine for the three-date run.

The name ‘The Happiness Machine’ is taken from the final track of the three-song epic ‘A Dark Road Out Of Hell’, from Sum 41’s fifth studio album ‘Screaming Bloody Murder’. Deryck Whibley and the Happiness Machine will play the following.

03 The Constellation, Orange County CA
05 The Casbah, San Diego CA
07 The Lyric Theatre, Los Angeles CA
