Laura Jane Grace to play surprise London show

Against Me! kick off their European run of shows at the Punk Rock Holiday Festival in Slovenia on August 4th but ahead of that, Laura Jane Grace is taking her acoustic guitar to a London coffee shop for a surprise, stripped down, warmup show

Breaking the news on Instagram (see below), the show takes place today (2nd August) and spaces are limited.

Speaking to Upset yesterday, Laura Jane Grace explained the reason for the surprise show.

“In two days time I fly to Germany to meet the rest of the band and we start the tour in mainland Europe. This tour ends at Reading & Leeds so it’s nice to be here, starting in the UK then ending it in the UK.
It’s just something fun to do,” she continues. “I like having both. If I’ve been doing band stuff for too long, I’ll start to get that itch. Maybe it’ll be fun to play a show by myself but then I’ll do a couple of acoustic shows and I’ll start to miss my band. It’s more fun to play music with other people but sometimes its nice to do it on your own.
It’s totally (more intimidating). You break a string and the show stops and if you’re out of tune, you can’t hide behind anyone else.”

Against Me! are set to release their live album ’23 Live Sex Acts’ on September 4th but rumour has it some copies of the record will be available at the show.
