Frank Turner won’t be collaborating with Taylor Swift anytime soon

Frank Turner is releasing his new album ‘Positive Songs For Negative People’ on August 6th and in an interview with NME, he explains how he butted heads with his US label Polydor about potential collaborations on it.

Frank wanted the end of ‘Silent Key’, a track written about Christa McAuliffe who was a primary school teacher who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986, to be sung “by an American woman [pretending] to be Christa.”

“The record label were suggesting some of the more famous people that Butch (Walker, who produced Positive Songs For Negative People) has worked with, like, fucking Taylor Swift. No contact was ever made but they were like, ‘Let’s ask Taylor’. I was like, ‘That’s a fucking rubbish idea’.”

Frank released the first single ‘The Next Storm’ from his seventh album earlier this week alongside a video with CM Punk. The album will be followed by a huge tour, including a show at London’s Alexandra Palace, dates of which are as follows.
