Courtney Love’s lawyers issue cease and desist order against upcoming Kurt Cobain film

According to Deadline, Courtney Love’s lawyers have issued cease and desist orders against any theatres who show ‘Soaked In Bleach’, a film that explores the conspiracy theories surrounding the Nirvana frontman’s death.

You can read the order in its entirety but the main point of contention is that, “The film falsely presents a widely and repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that accuses Ms Cobain of orchestrating the death of her husband Kurt Cobain.”

The producers of ‘Soaked In Bleach’ have responded in a statement that says the orders are “a cowardly attack on the rights of free speech, free expression and free choice,” and that “Courtney Love and her lawyers clearly don’t like that the film presents a compelling case for re-opening the investigation into Kurt’s death. They should respect the First Amendment and let people decide for themselves.”
