Bring Me The Horizon have been teasing their upcoming fifth new album for a while now. From umbrellas and mum to crosswords and codes, the road to Sempiternal’s followup has been a mysterious one but after the release of ‘Happy Song’ last week, some solid details about the album have finally been confirmed via an interview with NME.
The album is called ‘That’s The Spirit’ and “is a celebration of depression,” explains Oli Sykes. “A way of making light of it. ‘That’s The Spirit’ – it’s quite a depressing phrase when you think about it – the sort of thing you only ever use when you know there’s no positive answer to the situation.”
“This time round, the challenge wasn’t just for people to be impressed that a screamer’s learned to sing,” continues Oli. “We had to come back with something that would be impressive for people who had no idea of the history of the band.”
“(Drown) seemed to go down well. So we continued in that direction,” says Jordan Fish, hinting at the tone of ‘That’s The Spirit’, which is out September 11th
If that wasn’t exciting enough, it looks like the band are set to air a new song ‘Throne’ this Thursday on Radio One.
