Turns out Blink 182 aren’t playing this year’s SXSW

Despite rumours and a very convincing website (that has since been shut down) it looks like Blink 182 won’t be playing at this years SXSW.

The show, reportedly taking place at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q on March 19th, was set to be the first Blink 182 headline show in over a year and only their second confirmed live appearance in 2016, following on from the announcement they’d be at Firefly Festival but alas. It wasn’t meant to be.

However the new Blink 182 album’s done, with the exception of one last idea, so it looks like we won’t be waiting long for some more Blink 182 live news as Hoppus promises some real tour dates to be announced “in the future. Smiley face.”

“I think summertime,” Travis Barker says of the record’s possible release. “There’s tentatively some plans to play shows during summer. Everything will come together and be revealed in due time. It’s gonna be great.”

“Just having someone like Matt (Skiba) who’s in the studio everyday is great. You got to show up, that’s the first part. It’s just exciting,” he continues. “It’s a new chapter and we’re not striving for mediocrity, we’re looking to kill it. We’re gonna make a great album.”
