Big Ups stream new album: “It expresses dissatisfaction with modern life”

Big Ups‘ new full-length ‘Before a Million Universes’ is due for release on Friday, 4th March through Tough Love / Brace Yourself Records, before they head out on a UK tour that kicks off on 28th March at Broadcast, Glasgow.

“I don’t want to say it’s a concept record,” says singer Joe Galarraga in the new issue of Upset, also out Friday, “but there’s a loose theme of discovery and I was trying to write from that perspective, to make a lyrically cohesive record that deals with the self.”

“I think it’s certainly political in that it’s music within that genre,” he adds, “but at the same time I don’t think the statements being made on there are pointed. It’s political in that it expresses dissatisfaction with modern life. It’s the effects of the emotions of something political, it’s more of a reaction to it.”
