Nashville’s ‘psych crew’ All Them Witches definitely live up to their billing. Dark, brooding desert rock like ‘Dirt Preachers’, taken from their new album ‘Dying Surfer Meets His Maker’, is top drawer stuff with a top drawer video (directed and animated by Chad VanGaalen).
Featuring a spooky, death like character with an evil looking staff that munches up anything within reach and summons freaky lightning, it’s a perfect fit for the song. Check it out below:
The album is set for release on February 19th 2016 via New West Records, with the band heading over for a European tour to support. The UK dates start in Manchester on February 29th, and are followed by shows in Glasgow and London.

Recorded live in Pigeon Forge, Eastern Tennessee, the band built their own studio studio with producer Mikey Allred in a remote cabin in the mountains. There they lived and made the album over the course of six days. “Pigeon Forge is tourist central, with Dollywood and moonshine distilleries, pancake houses, and Christmas stores everywhere”, vocalist and bassist Charles Parks explains, “but our cabin was up on the mountain.
“We were the only ones there and didn’t have to worry about anyone calling us in for being loud. It was quiet. In the morning, the mist would be hanging over the city, then it would clear up and you’d see all these terrible tourist shops. It was nice to know we didn’t have to be a part of it. There’s a duality that happens throughout this record, that of the solitude of the mountain and the absolute Babylon that is Pigeon Forge.”
