The Spills are cutting ‘Floyd‘ away from their second album ‘Collecting Dust’ and making it fend for itself as a brand new single. Luckily the band and animator Rola Richo have put together a brilliant video to accompany the track, which you can watch below exclusively on Upset.
“I suppose it’s a sort of dystopian, sci-fi love song,” explain the band. “It’s about trying to navigate the path of a relationship, which you both already know probably isn’t going to follow the traditional commitment-checklist route. Without these conventional checkpoints the uncharted path ahead could on the surface appear quite stark, meaning you have to figure out your own milestones or landmarks to aim for along the way in order to understand what the relationship is. Running parallel to this throughout the song are various visions of alternate futures, realities and their social conventions.”
