Dave Grohl has talked a bit about his time in Nirvana, claiming the band came too big too quickly. He also goes on to talk about the dynamics within the band, “the Nirvana aesthetic”, and how Kurt was “fucking hilarious”.
“Unfortunately, Nirvana became too big too quick,” he tells Off Camera. “Bands are like families that go through uncomfortable growing pains, and if it happens all at once, it’s just too much to handle.”
“I got lucky because when the band got popular,” he added, “if I ever felt overwhelmed with what was going on, I would just go back to Virginia and sleep in the bed that I’d slept in when I was five years old, and have barbecues with my friends from fourth grade.”
