Brighton four-piece Verses have announced they’ve split.
“It’s not an easy thing for us to tell you all,” say the band in a statement, “but the time has come for us to call it a day.
“The four of us are still best mates and still as close as we’ve ever been, but we’ve simply reached the end of the line as a band.
“It’s difficult to explain why, but various things happened over the last couple of years that forced us into a long period of inactivity, draining the life out of us and resulting in a lack of enthusiasm.
“It would be totally unfair for us to continue doing this without putting 100% of ourselves into it.
“Despite all that, we’ve had an absolute blast over the last few years and we can’t thank you all enough for believing in us.”
The news follows the release of ‘Invisible Lovers’ online. “It’s not a single,” they said at the time. “It’s not on YouTube or Spotify. Just a previously unreleased song we want you guys to hear.”
Verses released their album ‘Feel It Faster’ in 2014, more recently releasing a video single ‘Set Each Other Free’ – watch it here.
