To support the unveiling of his debut novel, due out 6th October, Tom DeLonge has announced he’ll be releasing a live action film that’s tied to the Poet Anderson franchise.
Written and directed himself, the yet-to-be-named offering will feature Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, as well as Dylan Sprayberry, Taylor Spreitler and Samantha Logan.
The Angels & Airwaves frontman describes the film as “a brief and modest look into the mythology of the Poet Anderson universe. Meant to be a bit ambiguous and artistic, the plot traces the edge of a girl having recurring dreams of a boy at her school. While the dreams are romantic, fun and adventurous, a real threat exists requiring someone there at all times to protect her.”
“As a big fan of Tom’s, I knew all about the Poet franchise and couldn’t have been more stoked to be a part of it,” said Posey. “And I was so humbled that he picked me to bring Poet to life. It was nothing short of a dream to work with him, let alone having him compliment me on my work and feeling like a true friend of his rather than just a work partner. He’s a real genuine, ambitious and inspiring person that I love calling a friend.”
DeLonge is set to premiere an exclusive scene from the film on 13th October at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
