Dave Grohl isn’t having the best time of it – having broken his leg on stage in Gothenburg, Sweden last week, he first had to cancel Foo Fighters’ headline set at Pinkpop and another show in Switzerland, then a bunch more including Wembley Stadium and Glastonbury.
Creative agency EVB and web development group Bauscode have since teamed up to launch Sign Dave’s Cast, a website where fans can use Twitter to sign a virtual cast. The best messages will then be printed onto a real cast, and presented to Grohl himself.
“When a Rock God breaks a leg, he finishes the show. When mortals sign his cast, they do it with the internet,” reads the website. “Sign Dave’s cast on Twitter by posting with #SignDavesCast. All posts will appear on Dave’s Virtual Cast. And as many as possible will be printed on an actual cast sleeve that will be sent to Dave.”
Dave Grohl & Co.’s slot at Glastonbury, where they were meant to headline Friday night, will be filled by Florence + the Machine, who were previously billed in support. Florence’s slot will be filled by an as-yet-unconfirmed act.
