Reading & Leeds Festival rolls into town this weekend, with the 2015 edition headlined by The Libertines, Mumford & Sons and Metallica. The likes of Against Me!, PVRIS, Bring Me The Horizon, Royal Blood, Drenge and current Upset cover stars, FIDLAR will also play.
Mini Mansions are pitching up camp at the Festival Republic Stage on Friday (Leeds) and Sunday (Reading), following the release of their second album ‘The Great Pretenders’ earlier this year.
“It’s a classic pair of festivals,” says frontman Michael Shuman, who also plays bass in festival regulars, Queens of the Stone Age. “I think I’ve played it with one band or another for the last seven or eight years straight.
“The first time I played Reading and Leeds I did double duty. I played during the day with a band I was in briefly called Jubilee. And then played later that night with Queens. It was a long day…”
This year, he’s looking forward to seeing recent Upset cover stars Refused, who will be performing on the same days. “I saw them at Coachella for their first reunion and it blew my mind,” he says. “It was like being 14 all over again.”
Tickets for Reading Festival 2015 have now completely sold out, with the last few weekend tickets snapped up a week prior to the Bank Holiday Weekend event (28th – 30th August). Tickets for Leeds Festival are still available.
