Megadeth rocker Dave Mustaine has stated that he would reject an invite to rejoin Metallica.
Mustaine was the original lead guitarist for the group, but was fired in 1983 due to alcohol abuse and trouble with his fellow band mates. He was quickly replaced by Kirk Hammett.
When asked on Twitter when he would ever rejoin the band, he replied: “I would be honoured [to be asked], but I would not.”
The frontman also went on to mention how he considers drummer Lars Ulrich a ‘friend’, despite having an extremely tense relationship with him in the past.
Metallica will be headlining Reading and Leeds Festival later this week. To find out more click here to view the September issue of Upset.
