letlive.’s new album is “the best musically we’ve ever done,” the band’s Jason Aalon Butler has revealed.
Speaking to DIY, the frontman explains: “If anyone has observed my interview history, when I discuss an album I’ll say ‘it’s an evolution’ or ‘it makes sense’ but I made a point to not say ‘it’s the best.’ I try not to overuse that expression – that sentiment – towards the music but this is easily the best we’ve ever done.”
The band’s fourth album will be their first since the departure of Jean Nascimento. “We’re going to come out with even more to say,” Jason explains, revealing the band felt “the weight of societal affairs.”
“We’re trying to spark something. We’re trying to advance the conversation really,” he adds.
New material from letlive. is expected in the first part of 2016, with the album due “sooner, rather than later.” Read the full in the studio interview, taken from the DIY’s Dec/Jan issue which is on the streets now.
