Just when you thought you couldn’t get any more excited about Good Charlotte‘s comeback album, the band go ahead and tease what collaborations it will feature.
Speaking to Philadelphia’s Radio 104.5, Joel Madden reveals “We have a song we did with Kellin (Quinn) from Sleeping With Sirens on the record which was a really cool. We love him and we love that band and that was a really natural collaboration. It just happened, much like all the collaborations we’ve ever done. We did a collaboration with Avenged Sevenfold years ago that was just the same thing, we were just hanging out and then we jumped in and did a song.
“We did a song with Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro (probably while he was over making his solo ZZC album with John Feldman). I love that band and I’ve always been a fan, so to work with him was awesome and to do a song together was incredible. The record was definitely a really fun one to make. We’re always in the studio with other artists so collaborations are becoming a natural thing for us.”
OH, but the guests don’t stop there.
“The first song on the record is called ‘Life Changes‘. I actually got my son, who’s six years old, to do some stuff on it so that song’s obviously special to me. More than half the record is really high energy, some of the songs are heavier than we’ve ever done before and there are some big, bright ballads and some pop stuff.”
Good Charlotte are set to release a new single on April 4th ahead of a four-date US tour. The band will play:
18 Philadelphia, PA, TLA
20 Washington, D.C., 930 Club
21 New York, NY, Webster Hall
22 Boston, MA, Paradise Rock Club
