A campaign to get Eagles of Death Metal to Number 1 following the Paris attacks last week appears to be working, with their Duran Duran cover climbing 52 places overnight.
‘Save A Prayer’ – which was Number 96 in yesterday’s midweeks, and Number 44 today – appears on the band’s new album ‘Zipper Down’, which was released just a few weeks ago.
Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon has responded to the campaign, saying the band “will donate all proceeds due” to them for this version of the song.
“Considering options that are useful, peaceful & uniting,” he added.
Over 100 people died in the attacks on Friday (13th November), many of whom were in attendance at EODM’s show at the Bataclan.
