Over 300 items of music memorabilia are currently up for auction, including Kurt Cobain’s famous MTV Unplugged jumper (pictured), and a lock of his hair, leftover from a doll Courtney Love had made for their daughter, Frances.
“A vintage green cardigan sweater worn by Kurt Cobain during Nirvana’s appearance on MTV Unplugged in 1993,” reads the description.
“The Manhattan brand sweater is a blend of acrylic, mohair and Lycra with five-button closure (one button absent), with two exterior pockets, a burn hole and discoloration near left pocket and discoloration on right pocket, size medium.
“The sweater was obtained from a close friend of the Cobain family. A signed letter of authenticity and provenance from the Cobain family friend will be provided to the winning bidder.”
There are also various lots from The Beatles, including the drum head from their 1964 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, John Lennon’s Gibson J-160E, and a signed baseball from 1966.
Other items include the jacket Michael Jackson wore to Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding, Joni Mitchell’s guitar, Elvis Presley’s pyjamas, Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance face mask, Madonna’s Evita and Vogue skirt suit, and a basket once owned by Jimi Hendrix.
