Brand New were always going to take some time off at the end of this year. That casual hiatus was devastated and amplified two weeks ago when the band admitted, via their last gig for the foreseeable future, that Brand New won’t “last much longer.”
There was a glimmer of hope, if you looked really bloody hard, in Jesse Lacey‘s wish that when they do return from their break, “I hope we have a new record to play for you.” Thanks to an Instagram post by Mike Sapone, maybe wishes do come true.
Mike Sapone has produced three of the four Brand New studio albums, as well as lending a hand on Deja Entendu. In August, on a now-since-deleted post on his Facebook, he tagged the band alongside drum company C&C Drums and Cove City Sound Studios, suggesting work had begun on new Brand New music. If you look at the above photo, there’s a suggestive #BrandNew. Maybe we WILL get that much rumoured new music from Brand New soon. Or maybe Mike’s just excited about some new toys.
Does anyone know anymore?
