Two newly unearthed tracks from the vaults of The Smashing Pumpkins have emerged online.
With Billy Corgan intending to “find peace” with former bandmates James Iho and D’arcy Wretzky – even if that doesn’t mean a reunion of the definitive Pumpkins line-up is on the cards – the pair of nineties cuts are streaming now.
The first is an alternate version of ‘One and Two’, which appeared on Iha’s 1998 solo debut ‘Let It Come Down’, as well as in demo form on the 2012 reissue of ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’. This version features Corgan on lead vocals, which is unusual for an Iha-penned song.
The second is ‘The Tracer’. Also from the ‘Mellon Collie…’ sessions, the track appears within “Pastichio Medley”, a 23-minute medley featuring over 70 song snippets appearing on Smashing Pumpkins’ 1996 Zero EP.
