Earlier this summer, Upset premiered the video for Furr’s debut single, ‘Think Sharp Kid’ (watch here). Now the Leeds quartet are back with their second offering ‘Padlocks’; the track’s due for release on 14th October via Riff Pop Records, and you can hear it below.
“’Padlocks’ is our second single,” say the band. “The lyrics deal with the anxiety and apprehension that sometimes comes with being in a relationship with another person – so it’s a more personal and vulnerable song when compared to ‘Think Sharp Kid’.
“We created an almost Jekyll and Hyde contrast between the lyrics and music so we created a really fast song with loud guitars as the backdrop for the lyrics and then threw in a big riff halfway through for good measure – we were thinking PUP meets Weezer meets Queens of the Stone Age… something like that.
“It’s one of our favourite songs to play, preferably early in a set as it always pumps us up, its just got that sort of energy that translates perfectly to our live show! We’re so happy with the final result after doing all the production ourselves, and after all the late nights writing, recording, mixing and everything else that comes with getting a single done!
“The response the last single was incredible and we’re itching to get this out to everyone.”
