Creeper‘s new song might come with a very gothic name but ‘Black Mass‘ sees the band heading to pastures new.
Premiered on Radio 1’s The Rock Show via Daniel P. Carter, ‘Black Mass’ is the first track to be lifted from the band’s upcoming ‘The Stranger‘ EP. Check it out below, read what we made of it and prepare to get very excited for Creeper’s next chapter.
Speaking about the EP during a Radio 1 session, vocalist Will Gould explained that ‘The Stranger’ is, “kinda like a sequel to ‘The Callous Heart‘. It carries on the story and introduces a new character into that world that we’ve just made. The new character is called The Stranger. He represents, if The Lost Boys were The Callous Heart in our first record, The Stranger represents the crocodile who swallows the clock and he has that clock inside him.
“It’s time running out and it’s a million different things. We tried to make him as visually striking and as terrifying as we can because he represents all the things we fear the most. That’s what this new record is about. It’s the opposite of our first record but at the same time, it’s intrinsically linked.”
‘The Stranger’ is out February 19th on Roadrunner Records and you can preorder it now.
