Sometimes you need to make a stand. Though there are always things to fight for, over the last year or so, society has taken some dark turns. It’s at times like these we need voices willing to rise up and be counted.
It’s in this troubled world we welcome Diet Cig to the cover of Upset, on the streets today (Friday 17th March). Packing a red hot debut album, they’ve long been faves round these parts, but now they’re more than just the most fun band we could possibly think of – they’re vital. One of a bunch of bands who aren’t willing to go with the flow, they’re planting their feet and fighting back against the tide.
They’re joined by some fearsome contenders too. Their BFFs PWR BTTM and ‘zine scene stars Bleached feature in a cast of artists that are screaming out.
That’s not all you’ll find in this month’s mag, either. There’s 10 (TEN!) pages of hot Creeper action, as they finally drop their debut album ‘Eternity In Your Arms’. 11 if you count the review. Spoiler alert, it’s a next level piece.
There’s also a cast of heroes elsewhere, including Mastodon, Pulled Apart By Horses, Mallory Knox and Arcane Roots. Bellevue Days, Broadbay and Del Paxton join About To Break, Frank Carter shows us what he takes on tour, and SWMRS face off against Waterparks in our Rock DJ challenge.
Add to that all the latest verdicts in Rated, as well as news from the road with Taking Back Sunday, The Wonder Years and more.
