Fall Out Boy have released the latest cut from ‘M A N I A’, along with a meta video that finds the band selling off their old props on their own infomercial channel.
Just a week out from release (Jan 19th), you can now listen to half of ‘M A N I A’, with ‘Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)’, following previous singles ‘Young and Menace’, ‘Champion’, ‘Last of the Real Ones’ and ‘HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T’.
The new video finds FOB selling off souvenirs from their old videos, with the help of two beaming polo-shirted assistants. Patrick’s severed hand, a bass guitar katana and Pat’s suit from ‘Dance Dance’ are just some of the many references crammed into three and a half minutes. Hit us up if you spot any others. Check the video out below.
Musically, the track is the warmest thing we’ve heard from ‘M A N I A’, slowing the pace down slightly and settling into a fuzzy pop hook. It also contains an instant classic chorus “I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker colour”.
Be sure to check out Upset’s review of ‘M A N I A’ when it’s released next week (Jan 19th).
