New Found Glory close the first day of Reading with hits and then more hits

Posted: Saturday, August 29th, 2015

True to their word, New Found Glory closed off the first day of Reading Festival brilliantly.

“This is your party,” proclaims Chad Gilbert before letting the audience know there’s nowhere else the band would rather be tonight. Bounding about their back catalogue, the band play the hits but entwined with the rebirth of ‘Resurrection’, everything comes with a newfound relevance. From a soaring ‘Dressed To Kill’ through to the swaggering romance of ‘Vicious Love’ New Found Glory don’t let up. A cover of ‘The Cave’ by Mumford & Sons’ as they close of the festivals main stage in the distance sees band and crowd united under a smirk. It’s the positive, “you can do anything” message of ‘Ready & Willing’ that spills over from their set and into the night though.
