We’ve no idea where The 1975 sit anymore, but their new single ‘The Sound’ is a huge pop banger

The curious case of The 1975. Probably a sort-of indie band, beloved by some rock fans – seemingly especially those on the other side of the Atlantic – who have just dropped a huge pop banger.

‘The Sound’ is taken from the band’s second album, the impossibly lengthily titled ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’, got its first play on BBC Radio 1 this evening. With a gloriously sort-of-rubbish-sort-of-amazing rave piano, it’s definitely Big.

If you’re in the UK, you can stream it in full below. If you’re not, you’ll have to make do with the sample here, probably.
