So Pitted share new track ‘feed me’

Ahead of the release of their debut album ‘neo‘ via Sub Pop on February 19th and following on from ‘rot in hell‘, Seattle trio So Pitted have shared ‘the best song’ on their record.

Check out the lurching, ominous chaos of ‘feed me‘ below.

The band are about to play a trio of US dates* with Upset cover starsBully‘ and the very good ‘METZ‘ before heading over to Europe for a run of headline shows (dates below.)

Speaking to Sub Pop about the origin of the band’s name, Nathan Rodriguez explains “We’re a band named after a YouTube video. I like that.” (This video for those that are interested.)

“That surfer gets carried away talking about what he loves, because to him that’s all that really matters,” he continues. “I don’t surf, so I didn’t understand what it meant for awhile, but its meaning evolved more to me over time. When you’re riding a big wave, the wave will turn over, under itself, and a barrel will form. You have the option of bailing—you can ride off the wave and it will be fine—or you can stick to the wave and get pulled into the pit of the barrel, and that’s what ‘so pitted’ is: following through instead of bailing. You can take that abstraction and repurpose it to anything you like. It’s nice to think about it like that.”
