Iggy Pop’s ‘Post Pop Depression’ is streaming in full

Iggy Pop’s new album, created with the help of Josh Homme, Matt Helders and Dean Fertita, is out March 18th but you can hear the whole of ‘Post Pop Depression’ below, via Noisey.

“I wanted to be free,” explains Iggy. “To be free, I needed to forget. To forget, I needed music. Josh had that in him, so I set out to provoke an encounter-first with a carefully worded text, followed by a deluge of writings all about me. No composer wants to write about nothing. He got revved up and we had a great big rumble in the desert USA.”

“This was to go where neither of us had gone before,” adds Josh. “That was the agreement. And to go all the way.”

The band are playing a handful of shows to celebrate the release. Dates as follows.

04 Stockholm, Sweden – Cirkus
05 Copenhagen, Denmark – Falconer
07 Berlin, Germany – Tempodrom
08 Hamburg, Germany – Mehr! Theater
10 Amsterdam, Netherlands – Heineken Music Hall
13 London, UK – Royal Albert Hall
15 Paris, France – Le Grand Rex
