Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins has unveiled another track from his new solo series.
Having started the project three weeks ago, the Arizona rocker has been debuting both an original and an additional cover, digitally, on alternate Fridays.
Last week’s release, saw Adkin’s cover Beck’s sheet music track ‘Don’t Act Like Your Heart Isn’t Hard’. Said to be the first English-language studio recording, the track is taken from Beck’s 20-song music book ‘Reader’ and has previously been translated into Spanish and recorded by Jaunes.
The frontman recently spoke to Substream Magazine about the project and said:
“Writing is something that I’ve never censored myself with—there’s no agenda. When you’re working on something, it’s just about making a complete idea. It isn’t until later on when you find homes for your ideas. I knew I wanted to do something different from a “rock band album” this year. Everything kind of naturally fit into the place that it has. I thought about how people listened to music now. It’s more and more by track, whether it’s a playlist or a curated streaming service.”
Adkins will be releasing his entire singles collection on three 7” vinyl records on 11th September. In the meantime, you can listen to ‘Don’t Act Like Your Heart Isn’t Hard’ below.
