FIDLAR drop (probably) the song of the summer with ‘West Coast’

Oh boy. FIDLAR are serious about their second album – the creatively titled ‘Too’. The first cut from it, ’40oz on Repeat’, came with a video that begged to be gifed, quickly turning it into quite probably the clip of the year. The song was no slouch either; a perfect reintroduction to a band who knew how to press all the right buttons.

But this – their second slice, ‘West Coast’ – now we’re cooking with napalm.

Debuted on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show as her Hottest Record, the new song (a new version of a track originally on the band’s early 2012 demo EP, ‘Shit We Recorded In Our Bedroom’, fact fans) is the kind of summer anthem that earworms its way into the brain of anyone exposed. As a statement of intent, it’s pretty clear; FIDLAR levelled up, big time.

Want to hear it? Of course you want to hear it. Check it out below.

FIDLAR’s ‘Too’ is out on September 4th, and they’re back to take on the Reading & Leeds main stage next month. Try and contain your excitement until then. Go on. Bet you can’t.
